Knowing God / Conociendo a Dios

Knowing God through experience is radically different from knowing about God from a theology textbook. You may know about Him, but you don’t really know Him yet.

If you have not experienced God’s power at work in and through your life, do not settle for a secondhand knowledge of God’s power, rejoicing in what He has done in others. Jesus’ prayer was that you would come to know God and His presence in your life and experience. Don’t settle for a head knowledge of God’s love, it is much more than that.

Ask God if there are any adjustments you need to make in order to receive His promise.

“This is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true God, and the One You have sent – Jesus Christ” (John 17:3).

Conocer a Dios por experiencia es radicalmente diferente a conocerlo a través de un libro de texto de teología. Puede que sepas de Él, pero aún no lo conoces realmente.

Si no has experimentado el poder de Dios obrando en tu vida y a través de ella, no te conformes con un conocimiento superficial del poder de Dios, regocijándote en lo que Él ha hecho en otros. La oración de Jesús fue que llegaras a conocer a Dios y su presencia en tu vida y experiencia. No te conformes con un conocimiento superficial del amor de Dios; es mucho más que eso.

Pregúntale a Dios si necesitas hacer algún cambio para recibir su promesa.

“Esta es la vida eterna: que te conozcan a ti, el único Dios verdadero, y a tu enviado, Jesucristo” (Juan 17:3).
